How do I enable push notifications?
Open the app and tap the "🔕 Setup" button in the controls section. Follow the prompts to enable notifications. You'll receive alerts for new Alessi Hartigan castings, speaking roles, and urgent opportunities.
Why am I seeing a connection error?
CastAlert needs an active internet connection to fetch casting data. Make sure:
  • Your device is connected to WiFi or cellular data
  • You have a stable internet connection
  • The app has permission to use cellular data (check Settings > CastAlert)
How often does the app update casting listings?
CastAlert automatically checks for new castings every 15 minutes when background refresh is enabled. You can also manually refresh by pulling down on the casting list or tapping the "🔄 Refresh" button.
What does the "⭐ Priority" filter show?
The Priority filter highlights high-value opportunities including:
  • Alessi Hartigan casting calls
  • Speaking roles and co-star opportunities
  • Urgent submissions with tight deadlines
  • Roles within your specified distance range
How do I track which castings I've applied to?
Tap "📝 Mark Applied" on any casting card to track your application. You can add notes about your submission, and view all your applications by tapping "📝 Apps" in the control panel. The app stores this data locally on your device.
Is my location data private?
Yes! Location data is only used to calculate distances to casting locations and is never stored or transmitted to our servers. You can disable location services at any time in your device settings.

Troubleshooting Guide

App Crashes on Launch

1 Force quit the app by swiping up and removing it from the app switcher
2 Restart your device
3 Check for app updates in the App Store
4 If the issue persists, delete and reinstall the app

Not Receiving Notifications

1 Go to Settings > Notifications > CastAlert
2 Ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled
3 Check that sounds, badges, and alerts are enabled
4 In the app, tap "🔔 Alerts" to verify setup is complete

Distance Filter Not Working

1 Enable Location Services in Settings > Privacy > Location Services
2 Set CastAlert to "While Using App" or "Always"
3 Tap "📏 Distance" in the app to configure your filter
